Yeah, but Conan overuses that shtick A LOT. Conan breaking the fourth wall and detaching himself from a skit is fine in moderation but he does it nearly every single night.

Letterman has that problem more than Conan. Conan is quite educated and can have a really good discussion. Especially when Conan is with an intelligent guest. Letterman sometimes sells me on it.

I think for a while Conan turned into Letterman since 2009-2010 since his comedy is fueled a lot on bitterness that he got bumped by Leno and he wasn't updating too much when he got on TBS. I haven't caught it lately.
