I just wrote a blog entry that mostly expressed these same thoughts I wrote here, you're in it, if that's ok:
http://sophomorecritic.blog…
yep, but I'm extra special for not needing to look it up on IMDB
Agree, I honestly can't tell where the line is b/w parody and seriousness is. It's sort of like meta-performance art but Lipton's not in on the joke.
No, what I'm saying is that it has the makings of a plot but it's derailed by the batshit insanity.
I wonder if this is a legitimate first, or just no one comments in this section. I'm not that hung up about it anyway
I believe Ed Norton was in the Selma Hayek episode
Isn't it WAYYY too early for the Gotham awards?
I was not aware you were a blogger as well. We definitely should be allies as small-time bloggers. You mentioned AV Club as your favorite website and I feel that even though I've befriended some of the writers, I like to think I have a healthy sense of animosity towards the people that make a living doing what one of…
Yeah, that was the year I famously ranked It's Always Sunny #1 on my Top Ten list: http://sophomorecritic.blog…
….
I think the season that opened with Gang Takes a Road Trip, Gang Solves the Mortgage Crisis, Gang gives Frank and Intervention, Gang Fights the REcession was superstrong. I listed Sunny as my #1 show of 2009 that year b/c it got off to such a great start:
those are some great eps
This episode would have been epic if it referenced Bird Law in some way but if one of Charlie's side effects was being able to discern the finer points of bird law even better than before, we would have known that the smartpill was a placebo cause he was still batshit insane .
yeah, and I love how the gang basically knock down the scientists a peg or two with their barrage of everyone-talking-at-once madness form of verbal abuse.
I think the show's greet because it can be analyzed on a number of deeper levels and usually the plots hold up really well. Him knowing what a placebo was and reading War and Peace was kind of a big plot hole
Well I didn't know his transformation took place in the span of a few hours or a day or whatever. I thought the weird thing about the episode was the waitress was too warm towards Charlie. I could see her having dinner with him for $500 but I would expect some heightened interplay between the two. Maybe she tells him…
I've never gotten into the horror genre. Is that all it's about? It has the makings of a great plot
Totally agree. I love the Frank/Charlie moments. does anyone notice how even though there's almost no sweet heartwarming moments in the entire show's run, Frank and Charlie seem to have a really endearing friendship? They're the only two characters who openly admit to having affection for one another.
Well, clearly most of you think it's a good solid story or it wouldn't be getting so many good reviews.
