Correction: Some insular towns (i.e. ones that aren't part of larger megalopoles) that are big regional centers like Denver, Omaha, the Twin Cities, Kansas City, Richmond, VA (where I write freelance for) do have pretty successful papers. It's in areas like the Northeast with competing papers or multiple sources of

OK, dumb question, but what was there a border conflict in the original series. The Swedish/Danish border is just a couple islands between the North and Baltic sea

I didn't think the killer was as interesting as the other characters but the plot to find the killer was pretty hooky. It's hard to sustain the tension without a big bad. Also, if Sonya and Marco are now going to take an interest in the lost girls, aren't they essentially doing what David Tate wanted them to do? It's

The show is good but it needs to be more aware that "mindy lahiri" is a not that good of a person and not a great romantic partner. She didn't really support him in Haiti or the music endeavor and it makes it even more jarring when she's trying to hold a relationship with a minister. I have no idea why this show

Yeah, one character like that. not most of the characters like that. balance is key here.

@avclub-818c49b5b2c42720b80e2bc417c82267:disqus Shit, Gina-Cheryl and Boyle-Cyrill make a lot of sense, but Cyrill is entirely a straight man, Boyle joins in on the goofiness as when he acted out the murder with Peralta at the deli. Cyrill is funny because of his contrast to Archer, not because he's trying to

I think show's need a better straight man/funny man balance or rather a non-comic/comic element balance. I know people generally don't like self-promotion, but I wrote an entry on my blog a while ago about why shows need this and if it's any consolation, I don't make any money off my blog anyways. It just seems easier

Yeah, but am I the only one who thinks she doesn't fit into the show. The show becomes too off-the-wall silly if too many wacky characters are on the show, and she's kind of batshit insane.

Why are Caitlin Sandia Moreno (I'm not suggesting I correctly spelled that right) or Matthew Lillard not in the main credits?

Didn't care abut Linder, but I liked the Charlotte, Fausto, and Daniel plots a lot. I was really jumping for joy to find out Daniel lived.

I think a lot of films owe a debt to Traffic

I suppose that raises the question: Whatever happened to Sonia's one night stand?

I'm not sure where it would land in Season 2. I do think the serial killer knowing everything and being everywhere was a bit sloppy, but hey, the Dark Knight had that problem too. I just can't judge the quality of the show without the quality of the serial killer. I do like the world and the characters a lot

save your tears for something like Futurama, I say

I don't really know, I only watched this ep because of the Homeland theme. I haven't sat through the bad years or the good years. I only started rewatching a little because I wrote an article for a pop culture site on Simpsons vs Futurama and had to do it for research after quitting Simpsons cold-turkey over 10 years

oh come on, a tragedy. it's been on the air way longer than more deserving shows.

yeah, I do not like it at all.

Cool. Anyone have a link to the walk-on of his first season?
I thought the second season wasn't as good as the first because I liked the ambiguity of what side Brody was on. With Carrie as a confident (especially the middle of the season), he wasn't an enigma.

I ranked it 36th out of 44 films I saw in 2007.

in all fairness, Zach Helm wrote Stranger than Fiction which was a great film.
