"Normally to catch these luminaries back to back to back, you would have to completely misuse your cable package"
Haha, very true. But there was a frankly ridiculous amount of films in the genre that didn't involve the God Of Gamblers and/or his Stephen Chow counterpart.
Remember that time during the Hong Kong cinema boom when they made God Of Gamblers and as a result there was just an absolute boatload of gambling-themed movies? If a Chinese magic movie was like that, it would be good.
I bloody hated the Donkey Kong Country games. I found the sprites really uncomfortable to maneuver. Something about the momentum seemed off, like the character animation didn't match the speed or responsiveness of the controls, for me.

The only reason I ever come onto the AV Club is to see if someone has managed to organise a guest appearance of Tucker on Veep.
Doom, man. About 5 or 6 years ago I replayed it for the first time since I was a little kid, and I still had all the muscle memory and new every secret and layout of every level, but I kept getting my ass handed to me, and it took me a while to realise that it was because when I was little I would just IDDQD and IDFA…
Refn doing a Seijun Suzuki riff would be something to behold, I think.
Yeah, the misunderstanding's on me there. I said "the female actor" because I thought it gave the post a funny tone, like "generic female actor". I wasn't making a gendered comment, so I should have been clearer. Or funnier, maybe
