It's just part of it, there was money left over for another large purchase that's coming up soon.

Go for it!

Absolutely, it's meant as a cute nickname but I'm not sure that Matt Czuchry ever quite manages to pull it off properly - it veers slightly into condescension.

I wish I could 'upvote' this more than once.

I'm now struck with an overwhelming need to go watch Megan Follows & Jonathan Crombie for the umpteenth time!

I think maybe one or two, around the wedding (Fred's & Diana's) and maybe another right near the end when Gil is poorly?

Yes, I'm with you the "Yale elves" obviously pulled off some kind of miracle but I loved what you said about Lorelai waking Kirk up in the middle of the night to get those t-shirts printed. THAT I can believe!

[SPOILERS!]

I honestly think she knew she was being insane at the time - she says as much as soon as they leave her parents' house. She knows it was an irrational response and she's spent the last few weeks/episodes getting her head round the whole thing.

Sheesh - if he'd been reading from the start then he wouldn't have been working in a vacuum this entire time!

And yet Mr vdW dismissed the GG commentariat's concerns (in a recent podcast) and accused us all of simply wanting gushing reviews…

Penny Lane/Kate Hudson's attempted suicide and William/Patrick Fugit keeping her up walking all night is an homage to Fran Kubelik/Shirley MacLaine's attempt & recovery (thanks to C.C. Baxter/Jack Lemmon) in The Apartment. I think Penny Lane also wears a green coat that refers back to the coat Fran Kubelik wears -

*whispers* … but they rarely ever pay at Luke's…

That's really interesting - I'd not considered that at all. I see a lot of Lorelai in Jess (or rather I see Lorelai as seeing a lot of her teen self in Jess) so it would make sense if Rory continues to be attracted to people who represent different facets of her loved ones.

Though, come to think of it, she does get up early at Luke's place because of all the snoring… maybe it IS all possible!

Personally I'm really struck by the fact that Emily would rather have Lorelai be OBLIGED - by debt - into attending Friday Night Dinner than because she actually wants to be there.

Oh thank you! I'm trying to limit it now to the really special stuff (like the freesias in the last episode) otherwise it just turns into a big old list. Hopefully people are still interested.

Damn right!

I definitely can see the benefit of that - unfortunately it seems to be sending my computer into paroxysms of confusion!

It was the start of this season, and [SPOILERS!] the season ends with a dream sequence too.
