Meh, I think they matter when thinking about a band's authenticity/intent in the music they make

I love the early Black keys stuff and if you think they ripped off Jack White for those albums, you'd have to be pretty ignorant of music in general. Like, they not only did blues rock better than he ever has, they also demonstrated that their influences went waaaay the fuck back. like Auerbach dropped out of college

saying you respect her after objectifying her is the equivalent of 'I'm not racist, but.." I hate this aspect of the AV Club comments. like you're a heterosexual male, yea she's attractive. who fucking cares, I expect better from this site

I liked Will Oldham's album that was just Everly Bros covers. other than that, Yo La Tengo, Deerhunter, and Kurt Vile are really the only artists I can think of who put out anything good this year. Meh

I'm disappointed in you, AV Club. willing to review shitty bandwagon folk bands, but not actual ones. Alela Diane put out a great album a few weeks ago. where's the review for that?

@avclub-fc82b0fc541ab922a395543275ec203d:disqus  I don't think so Tim

Does it bother anyone else that pop country has sort of stolen the genre that used to belong to people like Hank Williams and Patsy Cline? like the instruments might have stayed the same but that's about it. I wonder how they would have fared on the show if they were alive today. I bet Jimmie Rodgers wouldn't make it

Broadcast did the entire soundtrack to this movie. it's really really good. surprised that wasn't mentioned in the review

Man to Man is worth it for the Merriman Weir episode alone. probably the funniest parody/homage to British folk music that's out there

I just watched FWWM today after reading this article, and that was by far one of the funniest scenes to me. Like Lynch was taking the piss out of this stupid cliche that you see in movies and TV all the time by continuing to track Bobby long after the cut normally would've happened

Came here to bring up Twin Peaks, because that's what I was instantly reminded of reading the article title. I remember David Lynch being upset that he had to reveal Laura Palmers's killer, because his original intention was to just create this place and have a sort of neverending story full of mysteries. That show

YEP! It's probably one of the darkest comedies I've ever watched. also very hit or miss. but the hits are worth it

Darkplace was the show that got me into British TV comedies. I really enjoyed the IT Crowd, but Snuff Box was the only thing that came close to Darkplace's brilliance. Man to Man with Dean Learner was pretty funny too. I really wish I could see all of Bruiser.. so many great people in that show: http://www.youtube.com/

Reminds me of the community for Fable after that launched. we were all convinced there was a secret island with dragons that you could get to. damn Peter Molyneux and his promises

Kal Penn is going to be speaking at my college for graduation this year. I knew I was in a low-tier school but I didn't think it was THAT low

Transcendent? are you fucking kidding me?

Sorry brah

"Preteen Christian Confusion" would make a great band name
