It's the aesthetic that's weird and incompatible with the music. My whole point is that the sound itself is pretty normal for today's alt scene.

Fair enough.

I don't see how one can rate this above the excellent Kerry Washington or Drake episodes. And the Fallon/Timberlake episode, while not particularly funny, did this flavor of "fun" a lot better than tonight's episode.

Is it wrong to say that I don't like when people call singers by their real first name rather than by their gimmick name?

Literally EVERY under-the-radar act this year got ripped on Twitter. And some of the people doing the ripping were reputable entertainment critics who should have known better.

She's an example of someone whose shtick is completely getting in the way of her talent.

Someone BETTER tell me that the crowd mic was muted during the Tatiana Maslany appearance. Of all the guests who received huge applauses for their appearances, she didn't even get a courtesy one…

Kind of hard to agree with all the hype about that sex scene (there were some articles about it ahead of Saturday's episode) given what we saw between "Huckleberry Quinn" on Scandal this season. And that all took place on NETWORK TV.

Wasn't the episode in which she stripped in the laundry room from this season? Her body has never looked better than it did there…

Wait, what scene are you talking about?

But there's also the part where he's been betraying his country to prevent being outed as a homosexual.

I'll give you that. He was too insincere in the foil role and now too bland in the ally role.

Oh, come on, she was excellent on Flight.

Pretty sure it's a ROGUE chubber…

Since the first Scandal season was only seven episodes, I basically look at the first TWO seasons of that show as a parallel to The Blacklist.

Two reasons for referencing Hamm in that regard.

Nothing you're saying is wrong.

One thing to note: while fat women (and men) almost always CAN control their weight (to an extent unlike anyone else who is dealing with a different "undesirable" characteristic), focusing on that argument essentially proves the entire point. By suggesting that they can become more attractive by getting skinnier,

Being somewhat procedural/self-contained is what makes the show so successful as a "commercial" entity. You have the epic Spader performance and ENOUGH of an underlying story thread to keep people hooked for the long haul, but you also give them sufficient instant gratification each week.

Interesting.
