This wasn't the first Columbus Short story though.

Really glad that Reign FINALLY let Francis be on the right side of an argument. No, locking her up might not be cool, but Mary's suggestion that she would be fine to 100% put her life in her brother's hand was far more ridiculous.

So the reference to "to be young, gifted and black" seemed to be a blatant meta commentary on Columbus Short, but Kerry Washington tried to dismiss that notion.

It wasn't the acting that bothered me (he was fine, though I wouldn't quite say he was great). It was how obvious the show was being in connecting his situation to that of his parents. In that sense, it actually might have been THEIR facial expressions that ruined the scene for me.

Enjoyed this episode, but that final scene took this out of A range for me.

That's kind of what I was thinking.

There was actually an immensely popular gospel version of that song. So as much as I initially thought it seemed out of place, incorporating the Foreigner song into a church scene actually makes sense.

I didn't make that connection, mainly because she was terrible in that final conversation with Artie, and I didn't think anyone from that show (outside of Minka Kelly) was capable of bad acting.

I really liked this storyline. As you said, it's an interesting exploration of gay relationships that we don't really ever see in the media. (Though, for my money, this type of competition seems more like a female characteristic than a male characteristic — I don't envy my male friends' looks/attention the way it

No. LA makes sense though.

As much as I don't see it (I mean, he was also the loser that got held hostage in that awful episode of The Office), he does seem to have some rapport with female fans.

So just as Glee starts showing it can sort of pull off this New York thing, Ryan Murphy gives an interview saying there's going to be a game-changing event in the season finale, followed by a time jump and another setting shift next season.

These reviews matter, albeit for a different reason.

The show has been pretty clear in suggesting that it is indeed what happened.

**Potential Spoiler**

I also love that no one's bitching about the black dick vs. asian dick joke…

Wouldn't call Betas super hilarious, but I don't see how anyone (save from the fat kid from Hung) registers anywhere near as highly as TJ Miller on the unlikability scale.

Yes

After two episodes, how does this compare to the Amazon show "Betas?"

Wasn't going to matter.
