Maybe I'm missing something, but the Netflix deal doesn't make sense to me.

I know what you mean regarding the Usher-Michelle rapport, and I similarly thought it was ridiculous when he went on that one rant about "inner beauty," as if she's utterly repulsive on the surface.
Yes. They announced Adam & Blake will be there for seasons 5 and 6; Christina and Cee-Lo are the other coaches in season 5, Shakira and Usher come back in season 6.
Amber seemed to have the highest ceiling but also the lowest floor. I don't recall any of the top 16, save for Josiah and Caroline, delivering anything as weak as her "Firework." Her "I Remember You" was also really sloppy.
— Really glad to see Danielle win. As Adam Levine articulated last night, there's something frustrating about how perfect she is (which is why I actually really hope she doesn't fix her teeth), but I'm glad that whatever backlash existed didn't prevent the right person from winning. She definitely had the best voice…
It's interesting to see how the response to "fantasy casting" has changed.
Not sure why everyone has a hard time buying the fact that a recognizable comedian would either be able to tap into his groupie fanbase or the sex appeal of his fame to hook up with really hot chicks.
Watched this because of the A, because I was bored and because I'm a big fan of the Louie/Curb format, but I just didn't get it. A few chuckles here or there, but for the most part, I was bored and underwhelmed.

I remember the New York Times piece on the finale talked about how the "You got X'd punk" bit with Pam turned a ton of people off.
Scott's Tots was incredible.
Looking back on the show, one of the cool little details in Diversity Day is the teased romantic connection between Dwight and Kelly. Kelly kisses Dwight in a later episode (I believe the Yankee Swap Christmas Party), and here, Dwight mentions that the two races to whom he is attracted are "white and Indian."
But what's funny is that they didn't even Americanize everything. No one here, for instance, calls it a "wastepaper basket" (granted, I don't know if that's a common English term either—I just know it stood out to me as not seeming natural for a US character). Just a lazy adaptation.
I remember The Office putting most of (if not the entire) Diversity Day on MySpace right after the premiere, so I'm pretty sure it did air second.
Plus, wasn't the comment more a meta thing than an actual indictment of the characters? He referred to Santa Barbara as the murder capital of the world or something, which is not only untrue in real life but was clearly playing off the fact that the show has at least one weekly murder (ie the same frequency as shows…
Amazon's announcement seems pretty definitive in that these are the only shows from phase 1 that got picked up.
I don't think preferring a female masseuse is incompatible with being pro-gay rights and supportive of marriage equality. There IS a perceived sexual element to a massage, and so if a straight guy (especially one as childish as Shawn or Gus) has the choice between a female and male masseuse, he's going to prefer the…
The cases have generally been really slow or weak this year; this was no exception. The show has always been about the chemistry between Roday and Hill, but this season makes it obvious they no longer even really care about using the case of the week as anything more than a half-hearted platform for that.
Amazed at how much I'm digging this "Nothing In this World Will Ever Break My Heart Again." A truly tremendous vocal performance from Panettiere, who was pretty tremendous in every aspect this episode. She, not Connie Britton as many would have assumed, is definitely the reigning MVP on this show.
One thing I found weird: was it explained why Dylan didn't just work with Norma to kill this guy? He's (more) comfortable with a gun, he's used to being in danger (and not cripplingly afraid of people like Abernathy) and he's shown he will protect his family. Seems weird to let his scared, possibly-drunk, unstable…
