And wasn't that the implication from Dylan last week?  Wasn't he quite clearly suggesting that she killed Norman's father to get the insurance money (while also intimating that there was some sort of abuse in the relationship, which would have given her motive)?

The reality is that the scene was very complicated to execute.

Weird to me that there was so much talk of Carl echoing the Governor (particularly on Talking Dead).  While there was definitely a parallel, I don't see how we can just ignore the potential impact of Shane's influence on Carl.  A lot of the attitude he was giving tonight was very consistent with Shane's approach

In fairness, the press release does very little to flesh out FXM.  Apparently that's because it already exists—it's the core programming block on FOX Movies  (3PM - 3AM)—and so all they're doing is removing the "FOX Movies" element of the network.

So I never really got into Grey's Anatomy (rebelled against it after it usurped Boston Legal's cushy post-Desperate Housewives timeslot), but is cheesy sexual dialogue a Shonda Rhimes signature?  Fitz' "I may not be able to control my erections around you" comment from a few episodes back was ridiculous, as was

Not sure where 11th is coming from, but FX announced a 10th It's Always Sunny season and a 6th The League in conjunction with today's announcement.  They had already been picked up for their respective 9th and 5th seasons.

So confused by the announcement.

I still find her very attractive and don't automatically oppose girls for being really skinny, but she did look NOTICEABLY thinner.  And showing off "the goods" often requires one to be voluptuous, so it did seem kind of weird for the friend to get all turned on by it.

Maybe I didn't understand his story correctly, but wasn't he explaining how he was super rich and had money addiction problems? (though, that could also mean he blew all of it).

I didn't find it so jarring.

Thought the same thing.

I played a version of "handball" similar to that as a kid, but it was with a tennis ball rather than a kickball. (Edit: Just remembered we called it "Wall Ball")

I really liked Avery's ballad—one of my favorite songs so far on the show—but the scene with him tearing up the masters was one of the worst things this show has ever done.  That was an example of soap opera cliche overshadowing whatever interest the show had in being authentic.

@bartsz:disqus I actually thought I saw something like that as well, but I still stand by my argument given the gratuitous camera work.

@avclub-589622fb3974db41fbe4a37b78d8585c:disqus My objection was to the presentation of that scene — not to the idea of the show portraying her as sexual.

Thought he was referring to a few seconds before, when he said, "If you come at me again, I'll hurt you really badly."

Curb's Palestinian Chicken, I believe, got an A+.

At this point, I agree with @avclub-7aee1b75b527e215f31e20a5c4e7a768:disqus regarding Emma.

Certainly didn't MIND the scene, but it was also so weird and totally gratuitous.  It wasn't even like Norman was there to further demonstrate his discomfort around his mother and her body…it was just a pure gawking opportunity for viewers.

Definitely a regular watcher; the debate over The Mother's age had sort
of been in play since the show introduced the clue about her being in
the economics class.  The possibility/likelihood that she was an
undergrad is, in fact, what helped some justify Carly as a potential
Mother candidate.
