It's a really fine line that the characters have to dance between ruthless and merciful. I kinda can't believe I'm saying this but It's actually interesting to watch Carl grow up and see how well he is able to understand it and live it.

That actually made the Governor's massacre much more palatable for me. In that moment he basically said "Fuck you guys, fuck Woodbury, fuck civilization, I'm going to fucking survive." Then I guess he drives off into the sunset with Martinez and the other guy. Not the best plan, but this show has given us worse.

But this was a dentist chair attached to the floor. Can't smash that up into a weapon.

Although imagine the luck of finding a Motorhead cd or cassette in that car.

@avclub-28b1819668d7c62501acb9852cad10a9:disqus I agree with you mostly, but I think Ray genuinely and sincerely liked Shoshanna, who kind of likes him back, but clearly needs to do some growing before she can comfortably accept him.

I don't mind the length, though I prefer it when the reviews are up within an hour after the show airing.

Speak for yourself dude, don't speak for all men. That's just stupid.

She's not actually self-aware, maybe just a smidgeon more self-aware than she was before. Which isn't saying much. And I think that's the point.

She was used to illustrate the shallow, rich, beginnings of Marnie's life. I'm convinced that if Marnie's mother was 23 and in the same position as Marnie was this season, she'd act the same way.

In a moment of trying to prove his love? I'd say he would consider it. But note how it didn't take long for him to see how managing Grumpy's #2 was the better option here.

If you're sure it'll all get fucked up again in season three, why call it "happily ever after?" Obviously there's more going on here than bows and ribbons.

I agree it was contrived, but yet people do stuff like that all the time, though maybe not a whole group of friends in the span of one day. None of this is going to stick. For a moment they're all back where they started and yet somehow, slowly and strangely, they've actually grown over these 20 episodes. The results

It's a weird kind of conversation that is all about subtleties and yet rhetoric easily gets heated and reading comprehension tends to disappear.

This is a horror show. Torture is okay as long as there's a reason for it.

Never said it was rape. There are different degrees of sexual assault. But yeah, clearly she was ultimately able to move past it. Doesn't make the scene in question any less intense or interesting though.

Not more songs written by Semisonic.

Childish Gambino didn't really come up through hip hop. He's tumblr rap.

I was happy to see them again. Also, FX still counts as cable.

Another similar example of the confusing nature of 'empire,' 'occupying, and 'controlling,' is that of US actions in El Salvador at Honduras (which is where the Contras had their base of operations). Guatemala too, to a large extent.

Intelligence agencies need secretaries too.
