The problem with Singles was everything not involving Kyra Sedgwick and Campbell Scott. Matt Dillon was hilarious though. Seems like all the other threads were half baked or had too much cut. Killer soundtrack though, those Westerberg tracks are such poppy goodness.

Swimming with Sharks didn't do anything for me but I think the issue was that I had just recently watched In the Company of Men.

Don't subscribe to the "first season of VM is the only worthwhile season" line of thinking. The second season is only a slightly less awesome and the third season is worth watching because you will grow to love the characters so much that you'll want to endure(also, great finale).
