I'm sure I'll get slaughtered for this, as it's no longer trendy to like this book, but this is why I found House of Leaves so horrifying. Things just don't add up in the worst (best) way.

Glassjaw and Converge came to mind immediately. Grey Britain is a great pissed off album though, for real.

Very true. Hardcore is also great at this - nothing shows more casual contempt for a band than calling it "girlfriend hardcore" (or if you want to go further back, "fashioncore").

Breaking Bad isn't "arguably" the greatest show in TV history, it IS the greatest. Get it straight, Casciato.

I've never listened to this guy, and have no opinion about his music. BUT I do remember reading Vice's review of his first album, where they described him as (paraphrasing) "Nick Lowe or Joe Jackson, without the wit." Always thought that was extra brutal/funny.

Everyone on this show is very good looking. Except for the old people.

"This isn't my thing, but I respect it" is a nice thing to see, you're right. But that's not the case here. As the article mentions, Sonny Moore is, and always has been, about the money. From First to Last was about the money. Skrillex is about it too.

That Xerxes album is pretty rad. Seems to be midway between the last albums by Touche Amore and Pianos Become the Teeth.

Okay, so here's my idea for the ratings-saving new direction this show should take in Season Two: Make it an adaptation of the Boss' song of same name. It would be a bit of a tonal shift, but I think they could still get the horror elements in. It would just be the horror of having your dreams shattered due to teenage

I'm in this camp too. I'll watch it, but it's just gotten…softer? since its first season. People on here talk about the show like its the fucking Second Coming, but Parks just seems miles better to me.

Lord, what a miserable nation. Thank Christ I'm Italian.

The real puzzler is how they weren't able to get Trash Talk, considering they usually play about 23 shows at SXSW every year.

Well he also referred to their past albums as being "Black Flag-indebted," and anyone who's listened to their older stuff knows that only Rohnert Park fits that bill.

Wrong…Wrong!

I was just about to say. The evidence money being brought up again appears to have been a red herring with a rather humorous solution - not the resurrection of a somewhat tiresome subplot.

I read an article where Miller said this is the best album he's ever done. I thought this was interesting, because he helped make You Come Before You, one of the best metalcore records of all time. I still can't believe that album came out on a major.

Actually, in real life, I'm Robert Downey, Jr., so I have experienced those things. Hence I can make up this headline with impunity:

As someone into (sigh) hardcore, my mind is so goddamn blown that ATDI and Refused have reunited. First American Nightmare, now these two? Fuck.

Bingo. As soon as I read the article subject, I thought "Twenty twenty twenty four hours to go…" I don't usually bitch about omissions in this column, but how could you forget one of the Ramones' best known, best loved songs?

Great to see commedia all'Italiana getting coverage. Renzo e Luciana is such a sweet little film, and really reflects the changing social mores of 1960s Italy.
