She'd do a lot to redeem herself in my eyes if it turned out she DID check into hotels under the name Gul Dukat or something.

You mean, Morgan Murphy, "Two Broke Girls" writer? Yeah, don't see a conflict of interest for misogynists there. If anything, I'm finding it harder to imagine a Kurt Metzger fan also liking Dan Mintz. But I said I was probably too harsh already, so why are you acting like I didn't.

I don't know. What can you say to someone whose response to a clarification is "no, you didn't mean what you say you meant, you meant what I thought you meant?" Maybe you're dumb, maybe you're not, but you're sure as hell intellectually dishonest.

a) As I said, it's a matter of opinion. I would say that both are respected for their craft by the vast majority of comedians.

I'm not trying to criticize Morgan Murphy, whose comedy I liked years ago and haven't seen lately, but are you saying that your stereotypical meathead comedy fan WOULDN'T like her?

That was a callback to your self-appointed role as Arbiter Of What Everyone Should Be Offended By, idiot. I'm really not sure if you're deliberately trying to twist my words or if you just don't understand what I'm saying.

Well, if I ever need someone to argue against a straw man that says the opposite of what I'm saying, then trot out stereotypes that were hacky before either of us was born, I'll know who to call.

I will admit that I was probably too harsh there. In my experience, the vast majority of Kurt Metzger fans I have known are "the PC Police are trying to take our misogyny, maaaaaan!" assholes, but yeah, the original poster didn't come out and say that sort of thing. Maybe he's not like that. Probably, but maybe not.

Again, Emo Philips is a brilliant comedian, right up there with Steven Wright as a deadpan one-liner comic. It is baffling to me that you think he is in any way comparable to Yakov Smirnoff, though I guess that's a matter of taste. What is not a matter of taste is that comparing Esposito, who is a storyteller, to

Having said all this, I will admit that Burr, unlike some of the other people mentioned, has talent. I've seen some very good comedy from him when he's not sidetracked on his his man's-man bonehead shtick. That stuff is just so unpleasant to me that it tends to wash out the good parts.

You know, now that I'm not panicking, I can see that it does me no good to argue with dolts. I've been civil with a lot of people… nothing you're saying is coherent enough to merit a response.

Do you acknowledge that both have an impact?

Yeah, this is fair. I think she does enough to be interesting, you don't, that's fine by me. I wouldn't make assumptions about what is important to people's fans, but that's a small point.

This is fair. As stated, I would say that "one of the best" is more a reaction to people insulting her under false pretenses. Like, would I put her up against Bamford or Kinane or someone like that? No, but there's no shame in that.

You know, I had a panic attack earlier this morning. And normally when I feel like that (not so often nowadays), I try to stay out of public and off the Internet. Here I am, though.

This seems fair enough… I would say that one of her strengths is the ability to ad lib and to generate a lot of material. I haven't heard the album, but I don't think the late-night format necessarily plays to those strengths.

Again: both can be bad to differing extents, and for different reasons.

Yeah, "one of the best" might be a little strong. I mean, I didn't say "one of the ten best" or "one of the twenty best."

There can be more than one bad thing. If you want to have a discussion about a topic other than the bad thing we're talking about here, you should go somewhere else where they're talking about those other things.

Okay, well, who are your favorite comedians?
