If anything, the most direct blow to NBC's viability as a network came with their decision to fill all their 10:00 slots with Jay Leno.

"Sony's sold Community to NBC more cheaply to help get it into syndication"
"I wouldn't go so far as to call a dwarf filthy, but they're definitely
dirty. But a dwarf's got personality. Personality goes a long way."
I honestly don't know if the budget is actually lower at this point, for that matter. If someone has evidence to that effect, I wouldn't be surprised, but I also wouldn't be surprised if not. Remember that as the years go by, it generally starts becoming more expensive just to hold onto everybody.
_A_ show? Maybe not.
Was that the one about the superhero who wore a hood?
They didn't pick up anything for a full season after two episodes this year, like they did with Whitney and Outsourced!
Quality has nothing to do with it. Its ratings were, well, let's say years ahead of its time.
The quantity of extras hasn't changed.
Maybe next time they should get the show and then cast the actors instead of hiring the actor, deciding on a scenario, and THEN trying to figure out how it's a show.
They only brought back two shows last year, didn't they?
As it was at the end of last season too. As it would have been at the end of the previous season had they not made the baffling decision to renew "Whitney".
Hank died a bunch of times, but Dr. Venture had a bunch of clones to replace him with.

Blugh. Put filler in filler spots, run your (semi-)viable shows in the 9:00 hour. This is BASIC stuff, NBC.
Glad to hear Seth Gordon is doing well — I worked with him on a first-season episode of Community, after King of Kong (which I loved) but before he had done much of anything else. Nice guy.
Filming wrapped last week. No set release date yet. Apparently, Crazy
Eyes is a series regular this year, though I don't know if that was
announced already or what.
Hello there, youratbastard.
Wait a minute, is James Patterson famous now? Good for him… I always liked him on the Walsh Brothers show etc.
Steady 1.1s in the context of a network that continues to slide, no less. And still at 8:00. And no loss due to the return of BBT.
