Yeah — I was responding to the previous poster, who referred to those two as "either of the other Hayes shows".

And Bob's Burgers. And maybe not Person of Interest.

I thought that was the show about their stupid, stupid chef.

Also, why is everyone assuming Sean Hayes is some weird avant-garde guy? He was in Will and Grace, for God's sake. Did middle America have a problem with Will and Grace? No, 17 million people watched it on Thursdays at 9:00pm. I'm not saying he's as big a name as Michael J. Fox, but the idea that he's an off-putting

You… might not want to know the answer to that question.

Better Off Ted and Andy Richter Controls the Universe are Victor Fresco shows — I don't think Hayes was in either of them.

I've long believed that if they switched Parks and Community, Community would get better ratings than Parks got at 8:30/9:30, and Parks would get worse ratings than Community at 8pm. I mean, two years ago, there was only a 10% difference between Community at 8 and Parks at 8:30…

Ah, Revolution. Why is Rockne O'Bannon a name? Also, Revolution, I guess.

B- is actually really rare, though. O+ is a lot easier to find.

What do YOU propose they air opposite TBBT? They have to put something there.

The "plan." In quotes. I'm pretty sure nobody was THAT convinced by the "plan" — they could have theoretically premiered Community and Whitney on Fridays in October, but only if all their other comedies held up. I think NBC was expecting to probably move them over to the real nights, but didn't want to say that

And mind you, all of this was at most a secondary concern in terms of why he wasn't re-hired. Ultimately, it came down to the show going over budget.

The thing that I always found kind of hilarious about Hugh Laurie is that his most famous role in England was as an abject idiot on Blackadder. And what does that translate to on American TV? A brilliant doctor, of course.

Yeah, I could see that.

What do you mean by "plan for it this time"? The plan was always to start filming in August, and wrap up filming in December, and that's what happened.

Is it surprising that Hugh Laurie wrote a novel, though? He co-wrote A Bit of Fry and Laurie, no?

If nothing else, it would be a nightmare for Kaling. The TV work week is long, but it assumes that some actors are not going to be needed for some scenes, and may in fact be able to take entire days off sometimes. If she was in almost every scene, she'd have to work 60-plus hours on set, with relatively few breaks for

It's maybe an acknowledgment that most of the show's fans are kids?

Makes sense to me. It's a light-ish show that probably fits better with a night of comedies than, say, Hannibal does.

Nope. I feel like I came in after Scrubs was already winding down, and Cougar Town's name/the general "if Jimmy Buffett was a sitcom" impression I have of it kept me away from it.
