I've said it before and I'll say it again — at least 6 of the episodes this year were written by people who were writers on previous seasons of the show (Another one was written by Jim Rash.) There was actually less turnover per capita — or the same amount? — between seasons 3 and 4 than between 2 and 3.

Well, yeah, because "better-written shows" try to make character-driven comedy out of figures with maybe 2-3 character traits apiece.

CONFOUND YOU, MAN! I WILL YELL WHEN I WANT!

I'm just saying, if the majority of Community fans can sense this "vibe", couldn't a talented TV writer sense it — and write to it? And if that wasn't possible, how would the show have gotten through the first three seasons, with Harmon not directly writing the vast majority of the episodes?

I wouldn't be too sure about "in the can". I was doing ADR for episodes 6 and 8 as recently as 2 weeks ago.

Or in some cases after. (I mean, I wasn't worried, because I was already a few episodes past that — but "Remedial Chaos Theory" has never been one of my favorite episodes.)

I mean, I'm not saying there aren't some growing pains… I haven't seen/read the episode they're airing third, or for that matter the season premiere, so I can't vouch for it either way. And there's at least one other episode that seemed a little off to me. (Though probably still good? It's hard to tell without seeing

Oh, sure, pick on the one episode where I had more than two lines!

A) you mean 2010, and b) this isn't a Parks and Rec review.

The Godfather 3 is underrated… not as good as the first two, but a perfectly solid movie if you like that sort of thing.

I mean, there's a good chance the thing you're looking at and pointing and saying "that's Harmon!" was probably written by one of the other 11 or so staff writers… but, you know, better sorry than safe.

Probably for the best. The first 2-3 episodes of every season of Community have rarely been the show at its best. Certainly not last season.

And it isn't here either. I mean, not in the episodes I've seen/appeared in.

Yeah — we live in a world where Community's ratings would have to completely fall apart in order for it NOT to get another season. There's a huge difference.

Um… they did leave it where it was on the schedule. They ordered a half-season for EVERYTHING — except The Office, which is/was still their biggest hit, and Parks and Rec, which (like Community) is trying to get to syndication, and (unlike Community) is owned by NBC, so it matters to NBC how quickly it gets there.

Not Tyler Perry as Shirley?

Sadly, that is one voice Community no longer has access to.

Did you watch episodes from the end of Season 3? If so, don't do that. A lot of those are great, but they are kind of dependent on watching earlier episodes of the show.

I think you haven't seen anything yet. I'd definitely call the vast majority of the episodes I've appeared in/heard about more "grounded" than the majority of season 3. Not that that's a good thing, not that that's a bad thing. It just… is.
