You make a good point here, and I think Dr. Melfi's portrayal (and several Drs. on the show, including Cooze, Kupfenberg and the rest at the dinner party) is deliberately negative. While it was clearly unethical for Kupfenberg to bring a patient into dinner discussion, nobody at the table had a problem with it. On the

Bubbles has a good point. Hopefully we can keep the discussion organized in a few specific threads. There's so much else to talk about (not that the final scene is unworthy of discussion), I hope it doesn't get lost in the shuffle

That's an interesting point, JFD. But the consensus seems to be that Tony's character does get quite a bit darker. maybe it's just how we're interpreting it over time, or how he's portrayed. but I think Chase and Todd are talking about a couple of different things. Tony's clearly had pretty evil tendencies and

I think it's a combination of less screen time and the fact that she's less agressively obnoxious. She's in a lot of episodes, but featured in fewer of them than in season 2. She's still pretty thoroughly evil, and sucessfully carries out a plot that's one of the shittiest any character on the show undertakes, but

I love how Crosby's a extra cool music producer by day, yet away from the studio his fashion sense borrows heavily from Mr Rogers. He'll get an automatic Braverman of the week if they ever show him comin home from the studio, taking off his shoes, and putting on the cardigan.

I'm with Chalupa, Santa was just making an educated guess (although he was running the risk that the shoes were from his parents, and Santa actually brought him something cooler, like ANYTHING OTHER THAN SHOES). Santa's dissappearance was a bit jarring, but maybe Victor was just looking down at his shoes in surprise

I can take the cheesiness, but there's no way that nurse is letting 14 people visit someone in the ICU, certainly not all at once. Even if Adam was bringing them in one at a time I'm sure they'd have shut that down at some point before 14. And I'm sure kids / babies wouldn't be allowed at all. That's the first time

I was 7 when I found out. I couldn't get to sleep christmas eve and got really upset that I would ruin christmas for my brother and sister, so my parent's let me know the truth. By then I had heard rumors around the playground to that effect so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Yes, definitely meant that to be Big Pussy!

I think this episode has plenty of evidence that Tony's not truly a sociopath. He's turned pretty damned evil, and has lost a lot of his "better"qualities from earlier in the season. But if a sociopath completely lacks the ability for positive emotion and empathy for others, I don't thing that really describes Tony.
