I'm not so sure I buy the backlash against higher refresh rates. I get that they can make movies shot at 24 FPS look funky if the conversion isn't done correctly (the 2-3 pulldown and all that technical stuff). And I understand why people don't always like the resulting picture, becuase my brother in law has a 120 hz

bfred: Salespeople at BestBuy might know that 50" is too big for the average living room, but they sure as hell won't TELL you that. I used to sell TV's for Sears, and in my youthful naivety I used to try to help customers buy a good TV with helpful advice such as that, and the customer's weren't having it. you give a

This season has been a pleasant surprise. If all we got were fist fights interupting fancy barbecues, characters meeting at the 50 yard line of Cowboys Stadium and some gratuitous eye candy it'd be entertaining enough for a prime-time soap. But the younger characters have developed well and they've moved the plot

That's a good question. it seems she was lying to Tommy, but they kinda cheated on this plot becuase they had to make her a bit more relateable, and the veiwer would be rooting for her to turn her life around and settle down with Christopher. For the better part of the season everything seemed to indicate that Tommy

I agree with Dr. Robuttnik. The problem here (and the problem with the OJ case in my personal opinion) is that a whole bunch of little doubts don't nessecarily add up to one reasonable doubt in the larger context of whether someone is guilty or not. In a complicated case there are going to be details that cause doubt

I think what you mean is that the Jury is adding to the prosecution's burden of proof, not taking it away. But considering factors not discussed in the courtroom without providing the prosecution the opportunity to rebut those factors, they're making the prosecutions burden not just beyond a reasonable doubt, but

yeah, I think we watched that in my second-year spanish class in college. I remember being mildly excited by the idea of watching a telenovela, but it turned out to be painfully boring, nothing like the enjoyable crazyness of a real telenovela. And definitely not as fun as Muzzy, which we watched in spanish class

I don't think I'd put Dalton and Lazenby over Craig, but I agree whole heartedly that they're both under appreciated. It's hard to say in the case of Lazenby since he only had the one film, which happens to be a personal favorite. So it's entirely possibly that Juice Box Hero is right and I'm being a bit too

I really hope that's not the case. 5 out of the last 6 bond films feature a betrayal from within MI6 / the British gov't (or someone close to MI6 in the case of "The World Is Not Enough). that's every movie since GoldenEye with the only exception being Tommorow Never Dies. They really need to come up with a new plot

The more I watch it, the more QoS grows on me. Bond's character arc makes sense to me and is a logical continuation of his experience in Casion Royale. I think the direction was fairly crappy (IMO) and parts of it do seem a bit half baked, as has been mentioned above. But it's certainly not a bad bond movie; we're not

@Rich Unkle Skeleton: Which of the new ones would you say sucks? I loved both We are the Night and Further. Further is a particularly strong album IMO. There are only a couple of spots that don't work for me, and there are a couple of tracks that are just as good as anything else the Brothers have put out, at any

Hell yeah! I've been waiting for some new Chemical Brothers for a while now, and this track doesn't disappoint. I can't wait for a new LP from them…
