I'm split on the fascist vs. anti-fascist debate
On the one hand, the intent is clearly to be anti-fascist, and the first third or so of the movie does a really great job of satirizing the Federation (The Mobile Infantry made me the man I am today!) the same-day execution and the kids playing with assault rifles

well, there's no denying the nudity in his movies, but I don't find this example to be egregious or exploitative (as I did the rape in Hollow Man). There's a similar scene in RoboCop in which a female police officer dresses in the same locker room as the male police cops. now, I don't know if that's common practice

I think we can all agree that this was the pinnacle of Jake Busey's career. Although I still found his teeth to be annoyingly distracting.

you've got a point there Everybody - I know they did a couple "gateways to geekery on electronic music (I think Krautrock and Dubstep) but just imagine how many you could do - House, Big Beat, Trance, Ambient, Drum and Bass just off the top of my head. I can't really think of any other musical genre that's so broad

Hey man, I was being sarcastic!

Damn wah wah wah, I never realized it was so simple! Here we were, thinking this a multifaceted, complicated issue, with impacts ranging from legal and economic to social and artistic. Turns out if the industry hasn't totally collapsed then it doesn't matter!

I was waiting for this argument (which comes up invariably in these discussions). Piracy as a marketing tool fails as a justification for a couple of reasons:
1: It's not nessecary. If a band wants you to be able to sample their music they can always stream it on their website. Or you can listen to it at barnes and

That distinction may have been relevant when the copyright concept was first invented, but today an intellectual property (and the ability to control that property in such as way as to make a profit) is just as valuable as a physical property. you can call it tangible or intangible if you like - but a sizeable portion

Piracy is merely a name for a specific type of theft. Superficially, piracy would appear to harm the record company less becuase that physical CD is still there, but the cost of the CD itself is a fraction of their overall costs, so that's not really a huge difference. the real impact is the lost revenue from the sale

Libaries aren't the same as pirating (and neither is loaning a CD to a freind or buying used CD's) I'll grant that libraries / sharing / used CD stores have a depressing effect on the market for books and movies, but the effect is lesser, and the process itself is organic and legal.

Look, all this discussion is fascinating and all that, but it doesn't change the fact that piracy is nothing more than stealing for people who are to lazy or cowardly to actually shop lift.

Kjohnson, Nathan refered to "Start the Commotion" as "a prime example of a genre called Big Beat. At its best, Big Beat reminds me of the Ramones or Girl Talk. It's nothing but climaxes, hooks, and choruses: all killer, no filler."

2 wycked - I haven't had problems as of yet. I haven't been using WIFI (either connecting to a wifi network or the mobile hot spot feature. If past experience with my HTC touch pro 2 is any indicator, that will kill the battery pretty quickly.

The Zune phone is going to be called "Windows Phone 7 Series" Technically that's not the name of any particular handset, but rather the next version of the Windows Mobile OS. I haven't heard of any specific plans to make an actual "Zune Phone", but from what I've seen WP7S takes a lot of it's look and feel from the

Guinea - I must confess to being a bit of a cell phone geek. But hey, there's worse stuff to geek out about, right?

Domestically, yes, but world-wide, it wouldn't make a huge difference, as most of the world only uses GSM networks. In the US, T-mobile and AT&T use GSM, Sprint and Verizon use CDMA. Apple could open the iPhone up to T-mobile easily enough, presumably it's not worth it considering T-Mobile's relatively small user base

I suppose It's be better with a spell checker in the browser…

No Thanks - I'll stick with my HTC EVO
4 g connection, open-platform OS, super-fast processor - I love me some HCT EVO

OK he're a couple of attempts:
