yeah, that was pretty brutal for network TV. I thought that DR green's death was more affecting (he's got the advantage of having and entire episode devoted to it though), but Lucy's was easily the more shocking.

The Godfather
the deaths of Fredo, Vito, and Sonny where each pretty memorable IMO. I thing Fredo's death has got to be one of the most tragic, cold-blooded killings in any movie or medium I've seen. It strikes me as a bit similar to Adriana in the sopranos in that we see it coming from a mile away, but for me it…
Spock's death was the first thing I thought about the moment I saw the headline - call me a geek but that's the one that gets me every time, ever since the first time I saw it as a child. My dad had rented TWOK and showed it to my brother and i when we were around 9 and 7. We were so upset he had to more or less…
I suppose it's a little to late to return that copy of "training day" that I never returned, but swore up and down that I had until they credited my account for the non-returned movie fees…. a year later I found it while moving I guess I'm asshole of the day for not returning it.
Ok, so if you could survive in outer space in a wetsuit long enough to repair something on the exterior of a spaceship, then why does NASA bother with all of those bulky spacesuits when they could just be using off-the rack wet suits? I'll grant that space may not be as deadly as we might imagine it to be, but it's…
Hmm, that's a good point. I'll retcon it by speculating that the interior of the starbase is pressurized and heated, allowing for repairs and construction to be performed without wearing pressurized space suits.
Too short a season is pretty bad. the last scene sucks so bad, I watched it the night before last, and I can't remember what happens after they get on the screen with the alien bad guy…
I only caught the first half of Bough, but wesley seemed a little less annoying. Having him lead the kids is a natural role for his…
I appreciate the download only policy. Streaming isn't allowed at work, so I need something I can download on my phone and listen to from there. I could stream on my phone, but that kills my battery pretty quick. Downloading's definitely the way to go.
Maybe it's the equivalent of foreign characters speaking in english in the movies - he was communicating with the crystalline entity through his positronic brain (convenient that positronic brains have just about whatever capability that the writers need this week), and also verbalizing it for the audience / crew's…
Does she have any sisters?
I agree, Lore had a bit of a petulant teenager / power trip thing going on. given his limited ability to deal with the world around him properly, that makes sense to me.
(not that I'm complaining about going through the whole series - I actually really appreciate it)
Zack, didn't you use the whole "we're geeks, so we do things a certain way" argument to explain why you're going through the first two seasons of TNG? I think Spaz has you dead-to-rights on this one.
I don't get the have for "The Big Goodbye" - I've always liked that one. sure, it's a holodeck ep, and I get why a lot of Trek fans dislike holodeck eps in general. And the whole diplomacy plots clearly sucked. but other than that, it's a pretty good bit of storytelling, IMO. It's not "The Best of Both Worlds" or "The…
Night Court was fucking hilarious!
Right wingnnut - that ep of "Clone Wars" was indeed pretty good - unfortunately it's easily the best one of the bunch IMO. I stopped watching them halfway through season 1, but they've been on pretty much constant rotation on the DVR ever since becuase my son absolutely loves them. Overall they're better than average…
sight = site. Damn english spelling rules!
Thanks for the link. And that's a great sight too - straight forward without a bunch of clutter, you can stream it and buy it right from the same page. If the recording industry had come out with web pages like this 10 years ago piracy wouldn't have beome nearly as prevalent as it did.
Let me back up and clarify - he gets action sequences right. Everything else sucks, but the battles have always been pretty good, IMO
I don't know about all of that. my Son and his friends prefer the prequels and love the Cartoon, but they still like the original trilogy too. and let's not forget that the dumbing down of the franchise started with return of the jedi, not the prequels.
