One of my pet peeves is literary over-analysis, and ascribing reams of deep symbolism and allegory to every minute detail of a piece of art, when obviously no such thing was going through the creator's head.

Whilst using 'nauseous' to refer to feeling nausea is often discouraged in style guides, using it as a verb as you suggest is most definitely wrong.
