Whoever voiced Setsuko in the Grave of the Fireflies dub ruined whatever emotional impact the film might have had with her whiny one note performance*. Really glad I watched it in Japanese first. It's not such a big deal for me because the only reason I'd watch it in English is if I wanted to put it on while I'm

I would argue that watching Pom Poko in the original Japanese is the only way to watch it. The story is so influenced by Japanese culture I can't imagine watching it any other way* (that and Maurice laMarche as the narrator is TOTALLY distracting). Ponyo, Arrietty, Porco Rosso, Totoro, Whisper of the Heart, etc are

I found it interesting as well. I haven't seen the show so I can't say if she has a point either way but man I knew as I was reading it that she was going to get a ton of crap just for writing it.

Nice.

That sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out!

Svetlana from the Sopranos or Ellsworth from Deadwood.

Fuck I wish Grim Fandango was on Steam.

@Fraggins:disqus When you someone uncomfortable.

I heard about the kickstarter and everything but no one told me they were doing a point and click game. So fucking excited

Oh fuck yes.

I've seen Dogville, Melancholia and Dancer in the Dark. I really admired Dogville, hated Dancer in the Dark and loved Melancholia. I was thinking of going with the Five Obstructions next and then Breaking the Waves after. Then maybe Antichrist? Maybe?

Except for the whipping and stuff. On a side note that scene in Melancholia where Kirsten Dunst whipped the horse made me super uncomfortable.

My answer is similiar to Kyle's but more specific. I wish that ebooks would do away with geographical restrictions*. The one obstacle to me going out and getting a kindle has been the shitty European kindle store Irish users have to use. The ebook is just lying there sitting on the digital shelf but it's not available

Was there a part where you had to break into a door with a jackhammer? That took me ages to figure out. Oh yeah! And you use the scythe to change the combination or something? Man, I don't think I ever completed that game.

Agreed.

Internet is atrocious where I am. 15gb bandwidth a month! I'd sign up to the DVD service if it was available here.
