Originally Chase wanted no credits at all, just black until the HBO logo.

I have no idea if you're being serious or not but yeah, the symbolism aspects of the argument are more… fanciful and aren't really my strong suit in general. I tend to lean more on the editing of the scene and such.

Also, Ford Theatre is where Lincoln was shot and there are numerous references to Lincoln. On the $5, the trippy ad with Lincoln, the lincoln log sandwiches, the lincoln documentary etc etc.

Also, from as “Air America” radio interview of David Chase conducted by Richard Belzer on April 14, 2008:Richard Belzer: I was working with Steve Schirripa [Bacala] recently, we were judging “Last Coming Standing” for NBC and we were talking about a lot of things and he was saying he heard all of these theories for

There's also a good deal of discussion of symbolism on the third page of this. http://masterofsopranos.wor… Some is fanciful but the picture it presents is persuasive.

"Question:Are they wasting their time? Is there a puzzle to be solved? [to the end]Chase: There are no esoteric clues in there. No Da Vinci Code. Everything that pertains to that episode was in that episode. And it was in the episode before that and the one before that and seasons before this one and so on. There had

People keep saying it was too obvious! That last shot hit me like a ton of bricks! Am I just dense?

I only finished watching the show for the first time just recently so sorry for hijacking the discussion.

There is enough of a debate over it that I thought I'd refer to them both as theories on equal terms. Even though I personally lean towards the Tony is Dead camp if not for the overall structure of the season and foreshadowing but also the rhythm set up by the editing of the last scene.

Any fans of the Tony is Dead theory on here? If I remember correctly someone from the AvClub (I can't remember who exactly) endorsed the "life goes on" theory.

I only hope they end up on the avclubs best of 2011 list. If only because the comments section would go absolutely apeshit.

Have you seen paste magazine's Best albums of 2011 (so far) list? They ended up on 3 different reviewers lists!

As did we all.

I think so.

Mozilla? Really? Wait, what year is it?
