Gaucho's my favorite SD album, just a notch above Aja. Good call on the tawdriness..it adds a little haze to the proceedings.
Okay, yeah, "For Crying Out Loud" falls a bit flat— especially considering the track preceding it — but if nothing else, Mr. Loaf sounds like he means it.
Aw, man! Bat Out of Hell is a great album, and I think Rundgren deserves a handshake for leavening the pomposity with a huge dose of satire.

I hope you enjoyed it. I really like the imagery of "all the buildings for miles around were swaying to the groove"— I imagine graffiti french fry skyscrapers towering over everything with their lines converging at the top, as if it were photographed through a fisheye lens.
