I can see where the negative reactions come from.  It's going to be "too arty" for most horror fans and so unlike what was expected of Denis.  As a fan of her work as well as someone who has little interest in most horror films, it exists in some kind of happy medium.  The camera lingers on the bloodier aspects in a

There's part of me that sort of likes his narcissitic asshole routine.  I'm not going to defend some of the truly terrible things he's said (the Ebert stuff, his entire politcal viewpoint) but it must take a lot of effort on his part to be that unlikable all the time.

At this point, some of those commercials have as much nostalgia for me as the special does.

Agreed.  This is by far my favorite Christmas special of any kind.  I've been watching it from the original 1987 VHS that it was recorded on since you can't find the original edition on any of the DVDs that are out there.

Carlos really is a really good film.  Assayas has a great command with the action and progressing through the decades, all the way down to the soundtrack.  It drags out a bit at the end but it's still worth spending 5 1/2 hours watching.

It could have been a lot worse.  I actually like Spader's character, dialed down a bit from last season's finale.  It's definitely not up there with Community or Parks & Rec but it seems so far this could work.

I thought it would have been funnier to have her be a sunscreen hallucination and where it ended up seemed like too much of a stretch and this is a show that can pull off almost anything.  It does get some points for going someplace unexpected however.

The Adam/Crosby relationship was the only aspect of the episode that seemed to work really well last night, perhaps because it's been developed more over the past two seasons.  Hattie and Alex just has too many holes to make me believe it.  Everything else felt to be treading water, even though the Adam/Zeke scene has

"Waiting For the Sun"
"Two Hearts"
"Red's Song"

That's pretty much everything I  would have said about this.  They've taken everything I liked about Zooey Deschanel and made it painful to watch.

America has spoken and they deserve all the Ashton Kutcher their mediocrity demands.

What I should have said was that every question that was raised during the episode (Alex's criminal past, Adam going into business with Crosby, Julia buying a baby) were answered in that promo.  It may not be every plot point of the season but it gave an answer for any reason to continue watching for the next half

I started watching seasons 1 and 2 over the summer and was surprised by how wrapped up I got in this.  Like Todd has stated before, it doesn't do anything that different or innovative but it handles its storylines and characters with subtle, believable insights.

My first thoughts of this was it sounds a lot like Furr, which is by far my favorite Blitzen Trapper album.  Destroyer of the Void was too proggy for my tastes but this is definitely in my wheelhouse so to speak.  Those guitar runs on "Fletcher" are great.

I don't know why we're still talking about Larry the Cable Guy.  Jeff Dunham has the moron demographic locked up now and is just as racist and horrible.
