I didn't think the Pilot or this episode were terrible in a standalone sense, but when evaluated together, the recurring theme is that Whitney (the character and therefore the real-life person, since she wrote this episode) seems to have a pretty infantile idea of relationships.
I was surprised to see Christina Ricci had so little screen time. Then I was relieved because her acting was gawd-awful in this. I didn't remember her being such an unsubtle actress from her films. Does she think she needs to turn the emoting and facial expressions up to an 11 for a TV show?
