Whoa now, don't misquote anybody here. He didn't say it was excessive, he said it seemed excessive. Who are you and I to say what is and isn't excessive? We can only say what seems excessive.

Even better to avoid commenting on a topic where you know nothing, and instead go read the news.

I don't understand that story about the Occupy protesters who got pepper sprayed at UC Davis at all. It was a protest against Wall Street… at a campus? Why not in front of some government building or bank or Wall Street or something? Does the pepper spray seem excessive? Yes. But then again nobody is stoning them to…

Nice list, AV Club. #1 and #2 are what I would expect, the Coens dominate, and some of my more obscure personal favorites were included (American Movie, Crumb, Red). My complaints are very minor compared to what I like about this list. I want to see the films that were included that I haven't seen yet.

80s. EDIT: At least for Manon of the Spring, which is I think what the first movie is that you mentioned.

I like Total Recall. It belongs in the discussion more than some of the other movies in these comments. But, sorry, not best sci-fi of the 90s.

There is one commenter that stands out for being awful, but I think calling him out would be a "flagrant attack on another commentator." I'll just keep flagging him for being obnoxious.

I doubt it. I prefer White and Blue to Red, but I don't think most people do. Tomorrow's double could be Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

@avclub-01f78be6f7cad02658508fe4616098a9:disqus has been doing a good job policing some of the offensively ignorant comments. I wonder if we can make the comments so full of awful complaints tomorrow that they withhold the top 10 from us until we learn to behave.

I hope it sells as well as the book from that other rich girl who stripped for cameras and wrote about her life, Paris Hilton.
