Too bad the song sucks. "One day I'm gonna be a star… so I can hang in a bar…" what?

Do you mean "What happened to 127 and 128?" I don't know either.

Better late than never - Steinski's "It's Up to You" is about George HW Bush, isn't it?

It's not just teen boys who are "slightly socially awkward, but really nice and non-threatening and stumble over their words when talking to girls." Look for Cera to star as the Col. Christopher Brandon type (from Sense and Sensibility).

I have the same problem, but I can't articulate it, so I haven't sent an e-mail to support. I can only comment on other people's comments.

In 2008, I watched two documentaries about selfish people discussing how they tried to get away with crimes. One was called "Standard Operating Procedure," and it gave me insight into what, how, and why the soldiers did what they did at Abu Ghraib. The second was called "Man on Wire," which felt like a bad heist

What's the etiquette for wearing official Onion or AV Club merchandise to this event? If I sport the "hipster d-bag" t-shirt, am I a freezing cold suck-up ass, or a freezing cold showing-my-support fan? Should I go ironic and wear some competitor's t-shirt (I don't even know what that would be… Slashfilm or

The Trib reported that it was colder in Chicago yesterday than it was at the North Pole. I'll try to go tonight regardless.

My favorite Hitchcock. Not a fan of B.I.G.

Best part of the film
This movie may be the first Dennehy-Gugino collaboration. They're both going to be in Chicago for Desire Under the Elms at the Goodman, along with The Wire's Boris "Unit Killer Marimow " McGiver and Pablo "Nick Sobotka" Schreiber. So there's always that.

@Moniker - That's very wrong. M.I.A.'s not accused of being pro-Tamil; everyone that's not a racist is pro-Tamil. She's accused of being pro-Tamil-Tiger. It's like the difference between pro-Palestinian (yes, I want these people to live safe, happy lives) and pro-Hamas (no, I don't support a group that wants to

She's not a terrorist.

Used to love M.I.A., saw her in concert, then visited Sri Lanka, met some Sri Lankans with strong opinions about her, and now I can't stand her.

I was going to skip DVDs entirely when they first came out. I remember saying to myself, "these can't possibly be around that long." Now I'm trying to the same thing to myself about Blu-Ray.

I've done the same thing. I almost want to re-register since a lot of my old comments are terrible.

Hey, it's Maya Deren!

As an American Indian, I approve of this message.

Pretty solid
This streams on Netflix, which makes me happy. I'm just starting to figure out what's the deal with this "anime" stuff I've been hearing about, and Paprika was a name that came up a few times. Pretty good stuff, but the Japanese pop music is brutal.

Gah, I apparently could have seen Silent Light over a year ago when it came to (and won) the Chicago International Film Festival. Maybe it'll make its rounds out here.

ZZZZZ
"Chazz… jazzy… schmaltz"
