The AVClub died on its way back to its home planet
Somewhat related - one of the things that has set my mind at ease about this is that Ford seems a lot happier to be revisiting Deckard than he was about Indy or Han Solo
The Rule of Cool: "The limit of the Willing Suspension of Disbelief for a given element is directly proportional to its awesomeness."
So much filthy fan fiction
One of the things I liked about Matt Smith's performance was that he nailed the idea of being a very old soul in a very young body.
It means that if you have a show that spans 50+ years, some of your ideas will occasionally go nowhere
I haven't read comics in a while but I still like the MCU so I'm wondering if the inclusion of these characters is a good thing or a bad thing.
I dunno, maybe because there hasn't been a single second of actual narrative with the new actor and people are already ready to dismiss the show entirely based on being "PC" or pandering to feminists or some other nonsense.
Ghostbusters sucked because it sucked. The cast had nothing to do with it.
It's animated so aging isn't an issue. Presumably they won't try to pack it with modern pop culture references (because they aren't Dreamworks) so that won't be a problem either. The original is beloved by pretty much everyone so there's going to be an audience for it.
I'm very wary of sequels - especially recent Pixar sequels.
How I'd deal with it
The only person to successfully drive the TARDIS without riding the brakes was a woman
They'll probably address it once or twice and once it's established that she can get past it, just call it a nonissue
I was thinking more along the lines of K-9 or Kamelion. Someone a little more obviously non-human
I'd like to see another non-human companion. I think the show and its new fanbase has grown enough that it doesn't need an audience surrogate so much. Just a couple of actors with chemistry to play off each other
I like the righteous anger. That's a big part of the Doctor's character
"Hello, I'm the Doctor"
Tennant showed flashes of that manic energy in Casanova (his first time working with RTD) and Malcolm Tucker was completely unhinged at times so I wasn't worried.
Considering their interactions with Missy and River Song I should think they've be very frightened of the idea of a female Doctor
