Gaiman is primarily interested in myth and folklore which I think explains his primary weakness as an author (and I say this as a fan) - his characters tend to be archetypal instead of fleshed out, real world…

I'm enjoying the changes mostly. I think they're necessary to adapting the story to a multi-episodic visual narrative. As a big fan of the novel, I am impatient to see certain key scenes but if the trade-off for waiting is expanding characters and plot points that weren't explored more fully in the book, I'm happy…
She's not a minor character really so I was happy to see her backstory expanded on a bit
To be fair, Shadow as written in the book (where he kind of fades away into the background and let's things happen) wouldn't really work well in a visual narrative. Since he's there and he's the protagonist, he needs to do things.
I've never seen Lemonade but I still thought the parody was hilarious on its own merits so well done.
