One of the best albums of the year
Hopefully this record will bring them to a wider audience as this is just great anthem rock and I find the Arcade Fire comparison apt.

Not to pick on you guys but this is terribly elitist. There is not such thing as easy laughs. There is either laughter or no laughter, how you get there doesn't really matter. Obviously the audience is "in" to comedy otherwise they wouldn't be there, just like the audience at a Lady Gaga concert is obviously "in" to

I actually am too lazy to finish this senten

Not to bring Freud into this but this is really the super ego rejecting the id on a mass scale. @Dick Rockhard
Except Ingmar Bergman was a pretty congenial fellow and did talk shows like Dick Cavett and also joked around about working on the set so you are completely wrong on that point. He doesn't get respect for being himself, he gets respect for his films. Same for Woody Allen. Once again there is confusion

It's because there is no such thing as self-awareness. It's the audience becoming aware of the humanity of the celebrity. Dane Cook commenting on his mass perception isn't him fulfilling some spiritual awakening but informing the public. It is the audience who is being educated. We are the ones who put people in these

In the minority
but I like their "hardcore" albums best, Check Your Head and Ill Communication. Paul's Boutique is just so sample heavy that it overpowers the flow and the lyrics too much for me. Although I will say Shake Your Rump is one of their best songs.

I, Prometheus, enslaved and entrapped on this abandoned space station do eternally suffer the torment of the ancient queen. She descends upon me to collect her litter from my bowels. In the wrought pain of birth, trapped in her fetal cocoon, I fall. I fall, yet I live, the last man in a cold, dead universe. For I,

Mary Star of the Sea was you just continuing your arena rock aspirations this time in the form of a super group and a more commercial sound. You really can't consider it a zenith when it was more of a lateral move from Siamese Dream. I also don't think ZWAN will be remembered as anything more than a detour. The album

It's not really important what
but why.

Louis Malle and the objective distance
Grey Gardens or Michael Moore docs where the filmmakers insert themselves into the story just do not sit right with me. What we are getting is people hamming it up for the camera and really no organic narrative. I definitely prefer docs like Malle's Phantom India and Calcutta

Is it unfair for me to examine this album from an existential perspective since I was listening to this album before I even knew what existentialism was? Did this album perhaps lead me to Camus and Sartre or confer a predisposition on me to these ideas? Should any music or art that we form a personal or even

Let no one read this
Out of Time is the mythological sound of America drawing upon three decades of popular music: hip-hop, country, Motown, The Beach Boys. The album contains a world weariness and a cynicism but also has within it a musical catharsis and joy. Pain is not for self-pity but a catalyst to expression.

@ David Boring What about free streaming sites, what about ad supported video sites, what about live streaming? There are many legitimate ways to experience art that is not piracy and that still make people money. Artists expecting people to buy "digital content" is pretty naive considering a lot of content is put up

But wasn't the trailer approved for all audiences. (Green band)?

I can buy an original Picasso canvas for 10 million dollars or a print canvas of the same painting for $100 dollars. The image is the same. It is the paint and the canvas which is costing all that money for the original, i.e. the medium. The image has no price only what it is printed on. You are right, digital art

The tricky thing with reviews is that you have to have an audience in mind and know what that audience expects. Most publications cater to a niche audience thus the reviews follow suit. Critical analysis is meant to be as objective as possible whereas reviews are allowed to follow a "good/bad" model.

And spell check means smarter posts.
