I haven't seen the election episode, but I've seen bits and pieces that have a political bent. A shot at Hillary Clinton out of nowhere here, some Reagan praise there. Also a scene that replicated basically every awful argument about religion you've seen in real life. This is a bit of an exaggeration, but it felt like

Something I noticed in that scene: when Quark identifies root beer as a human drink, I think it's the first time a Ferengi ever says "human" instead of "hew-mon." At least on this show; I'm not too well-versed in TNG. Maybe it's a meaningful indication the Quark has reached an understanding about the Federation? Or

The scene where Kai Winn's ambitions are frustrated might have been improved had Lenaris walked in, middle fingers aloft, and said "These are for you, Winn."

I liked the language of Dukat's proclamation. The stiff style sounds a lot like something a real world embassy or what have you would put together.

Between the Tran scenes tonight and the future Nick stuff earlier this season, I hope we see a trend of pairing Nick with strange, old men.
