I've been trying to wrack my brain for anything that would make me happier than badass, Boyd-loving, skillet-wielding, criminal kingpin Ava and… nope, I got nothing.

"He called me an onanist. Bet you don't even know what that means, smartass."
"Actually I do."   "Yeah well, I didn't."

I gave it an A- ONLY BECAUSE OF THAT GODDAMN SEASON PREVIEW. We gotta have somewhere to go from here and there is no A+++++++.

Yeeeeeah JUSTIFIED.

@avclub-67606d48e361ce176ca71fd54fcf4286:disqus I'd rather watch Elaine watch movies than watch movies themselves.

“Quit telling your stupid story about the stupid desert and just DIE already. DIE!” I feel like this is the Elaine quote I employ most in my life.

I couldn't agree more. And look at even the most minor of minor characters on those two shows, like say, Vicki or Neil on Community, or Vasquez or Trooper Tom Bergen on Justified— they're still characters you legitimately feel like you know, and eagerly want to see more of. They're fascinating. I'd watch each of their

I almost read it like, Early Troy was just being what he thought people expected of him, fulfilling the role he found himself cast in (whether it was conscious or no). We were very much introduced to Community on the “first day of school.” No one is who they really are, every character is almost like a character

Yes! Agreed. To the no-show-is-universal/Breaking-Bad-is-OK-but-not-personally-adored thing. And hey, I actually thought the last three episodes were pretty great so there you go for proof of concept— everybody’s got their thing, you know?

What Todd said, about being a little nervous before watching now? A friend and I were just discussing something similar, how sometimes a show can get so good that then all it does is make you nervous every week that it’s going to inevitably crash and burn and suck.

I’m not gonna lie, that pretty much made the episode for me. BILLINGS!

Agreed re: preferring (greatly) their fictional dork versions. I wasn’t sure it applied to the topic exactly because I don’t “love The X-Files and loathe Duchovny,” but I adore Mulder and find Duchovny in anything else to be… completely bland and boring. So I think we agree? Basically Duchovny was made to play Mulder

Jesus, that just reminds me how much they wasted Olyphant as Cordray. How do you waste Olyphant in anything?

Anyone else notice Schrute Farms was Ava Crowder's house from (the second season of) Justified? My alternate timeline was Boyd Crowder's commandos ambushing everyone on site. So I watched a KICKASS episode, is what I'm saying.

Totally agreed, Todd. Julia and Joel are the best. Week after week they're my favorite part of the show.
