The hospital/baby subplot pulled a Poochie and stole the car Haley and Alex were in, leaving them stranded as it drives past the high school.

That's exactly how I feel - and I'm going to let the hospital scene slide mainly on the basis of it being a comedy. But pairing up Alex with a gay stereotype really pushed it for me.
