Given the discussion of Sofia vs. Sarah above…I can't see why we can't have both. ln a bikini. Doing the Five-Finger Filet thing.

Charles Bronson would be the most kick-ass dad (or mom) ever.

Not to take away from the feminism discussion but it just occurred to me that the break between this scene and then right away going to Manny's attempt at attention represents a serious case of mood whiplash.

Rick Santorum's popularity disturbs and the fact that his fans cheer attitudes like this on disturbs me to no end.

Most of the AV Club staff do. Noel, Carrie and Will just off the top of my head.

And I just realized that most of the "Guy who's banging that babe" plotlines have revolved around Gloria and Phil. All…what, two of them?

Haley's 21 in real life.

Japanese animation has made me somewhat used to it.

I dunno, I hear the unemployment lines for part-time actors are pretty lengthy so it's not like they'd have a shortage of bodies to cast.

Things got serious on TV in the 90s. Not like in the 80s when things were rockin'. Do a lot of coke and vote for Ronald Reagan!

Yeah and how long will it take for them to build up so many damn characters we can't even remember if Hans Moleman came before or after Disco Stu?

An A- episode featuring The Situation.

As I said, I think Suburgatory had a nice and reasonable compromise message. I don't get why that's so bad, even if I don't have a problem with this episode either.

Oh, and when are you going to turn over these reviews back to Donna, Meredith?

"My wife said that this episode struck her as being somewhat similar to
1.14, “The Yelling,” where Frankie tries to yell less at the kids. I
wouldn’t say they’re identical, but I get where she’s coming from." Yeah sometimes I get the feeling that ABC has one script that they pass around to all the various show's

I'm not sure if I like this episode better than when Suburgatory did it or honestly which approach I like better (click the link to read my defense of George). But I like the idea of Alex getting a doll (not the idea of an Ariel Winter American Girl doll, that's just creepy, and Suburgatory has enough creepy  subtext

"If you’ve been waiting to watch Ty Burrell sweat and stammer
through the revelation that one of the Dunphy daughters has known a boy
in the biblical sense, you’re in luck. If this is the case, you may also
be a creep." …yeah that's pretty much Sarah Hyland's IMDb page in a nutshell, just for the record.

I'm kinda divided as to whether or not give this episode a B+ or an A-…but I don't hesitate to give it an A- because this is about the only show on USA that regularly deserves even consideration of going that high (sorry, I don't watch Royal Pains at all, but at least I can't say I hate it or even think it's average).
