I couldn't even tell from the hype and previews what "Joy" was about. That alone is a bad sign, and why Russell is such a big deal eludes me, though I do love "Flirting With Disaster".

Green Day has been huge for over twenty years, she was in high school in Southern California when this album came out, and yet she lived in a place where people didn't know "music like that"? Uh, ok. We're not talking about Mahavishnu Orchestra here, Green Day was already one of the biggest bands in the world.
Um, are you not aware that Mother Love Bone and Pearl Jam are two very different bands? How could you even know Wood's name without knowing that they only shared two members?
I found it to be a mind-bending thrill ride for the ages, it's truly a provocative game-changer that will shock and surprise audiences of all types, especially if they like challenging can't-miss posts that are Sure To Be Remembered Come Awards Time.
Yeah, it's better than nothing.
Fuck that. Go see "Green Room".
Remembering Cooper more than Cage is a mighty testament to the considerable skills of Cooper.
"Midnight Special" and "Green Room", while having nothing really in common, make a good pair in that they were both made by up-and-coming American directors (the six features* that Nichols and Saulnier combined have made are all excellent), are both, as you say, very intelligent and refrain from any kind of dumbing…
Pretty much agreed on Crimson Peak. I saw it in IMAX which only served to prove that it was a visual feast and little else. Chastain, however, owned it. Did not expect that performance from her, and hope to see more of the like.
I've only recently gotten into Always Sunny, but now I rip through three episodes at a time once or twice a week. I've only seen the one "Lethal Weapon" episode, where Mac is in blackface as Murtaugh. Holy fuck.
Said it in my own post but yeah Green Room fucking destroys. Blue Ruin had me ready for something stellar from Saulnier but goddamn.
Green Room. Holy fuck did I watch the FUCK outta Green Room. I'd been eagerly anticipating it for months, and it paid off in full. White-knuckler through and through. A poster above beat me to the punch by using the word "nasty" to describe it. Nasty and thrilling, uber-intense and nerve-shredding in the best possible…
Not sure, but I think you're right. Upon going to DefJux he released "Labor Days" which was produced by Aesop, Blockhead and Omega One. Anyway, the album is great. Then "Bazooka Tooth" which he largely produced himself. But El-P gives a killer verse on "We're Famous".
I would counter by saying that if he edited himself the way most MCs do, he wouldn't be Aesop Rock at all. Of course it's indulgent, I doubt even he would dispute that. He's rambling and bizarre and generally difficult to understand, and that's why he's so great - he does all that shit well despite the relentless…
He fucking rules.
My partner is a major-league horror fiend, and "A Tale of Two Sisters" is one of her very favorite movies. I dig it too, but she is in love with it.
Yeah 3-Iron is really interesting, been ages since I saw it but it still sits on my DVD shelf awaiting a second look. Meditative, simple film that works great.
That jump-kick in the ditch is beyond hilarious.
"Amazing" seems generous, especially considering what an insanely boring critic Travers tends to be.
