Norwegian schoolkids singing Emperor

Is this a trap?

Someone just upvoted one of my comments, and then took it back. Booooooo! That upvote is mine, goddamn it!

Love of money is the root of all evil.

WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU, FOUR-YEAR-OLD LIAR!

That's the one: I bought it because it seemed to be a major improvement over the shitty $5 prints available at the time. As with the Star Wars special editions (Han shot first!), you have to wonder how they failed to predict that fans would unanimously, passionately hate the changes.

I mistakenly bought some anniversary edition of NOTLD, with annoying new characters shoehorned into the story…Jesus Christ, it was terrible. Still bitter about that.

Gay cowboys eating pudding…again?!

I read that the Breaking Bad Season 6 item fooled some people, even though the item claims that there will be a new character on the show called Fappy the Anti-Masturbation Dolphin. So, how lazy do you have to be to pass on a story as fact without even reading it first?

If you're right, and they're ripping off clearly fictional South Park characters, that might be a clue to non-idiots that the "news story" is fake. Again, I think it's a lame attempt at humor (and/or to get attention), and not a "lie," strictly speaking.

A moron might think that Weekly World News is a real newspaper. Just because it's possible that a moron might take a ridiculous story seriously doesn't mean that it has crossed a line, and must be stopped. This is not to say this site has any value whatsoever…

The business model of the AV Club (at least the mobile version) seems to be: let's hope that someone accidentally clicks on this, while trying to click that.

They say that Obama is running for a 3rd term, and Fappy the Anti-Masturbation Dolphin is endorsing him: “Obama has really done a lot to put pressure on Big Masturbation and I think a third term is exactly what he needs to put an end to masturbation in this country once and for all. I wish him the best of luck!”

The articles on the fake NBC site read like sad attempts to be The Onion
(e.g., "Obama endorses Donald Trump"). It's clearly meant to be parody/satire…not remotely funny, clever, or worth your time, but you could say that about a lot of things.

Yeah, and this sort of sarcasm is really clever, amusing, and does not in any way make you sound like a smart-assed teenager.

Gilliam doesn't say that all superhero films suck: he liked Ant-Man, didn't he? He also doesn't even come close to saying that all westerns are good. Clearly, he's making no comment on the bad ones (which, I agree, were countless): he's talking about the great ones, and (implicitly) asking, why are there no

Huh? I wasn't saying that this is not worth discussing. I was saying that I'm right, and you're wrong.

There have been film adaptations of superhero comics since the 30s: we forget about most of these adaptations, because they're dated and embarrassing, but surely, they count, if we're comparing the merits of the two genres, or the possibility that we'll be "surprised" by them. The best westerns are some of the best

The point is usually to bring to life, in an authentic and cool way, something that we fanboys once experienced in comic book form (in other words, to feed nostalgia). And to keep the franchise going (some superhero movies seem like nothing more than trailers for the next one in the series). So long as that's their
