Neither did I. I thought it was well received at the time. Its quite of its time and the post 7/7 vibe feels a little dated now but its still a great album IMO.

It gets a lot more polished and they drop they POV camera gimmick quite a bit from season 2 onwards. I'd say its well worth working as far as the first few episodes of season 2 given the shortness of the Brit seasons.

You should try and watch a bit of the British panel show Would I Lie To You. Its pretty typical panel stuff but Mitchell is a team captain and has some great rants on it.

Most of the comedy shows people go to are paid for though. Hence people have expectations and just leaving or sitting in silence are pretty shitty options at that stage.

I seen John Bishop get heckled and try to fight the heckler instead of taking him on with words. The heckler just said something pathetic like "I fucked your wife" but Bishop totally lost it. And to be fair Bishop was just slagging off the local audience in the hackiest way ever. That was before he was playing massive…

If you suck you deserve to be heckled. Thats the law. Half the room heckled this guy and it was quite an interesting…

I'd avoid it. I think this was the start of me turning on Gervais and to a lesser extent Merchant.
