Ten came out in '91, but Pearl Jam didn't break until Lollapalooza in 1992.
Nevermind actually came out about a month after Ten, at the end of September, started getting lots of airplay by November and was #1 in January.
I'm not sure how much of it was organic, since Nirvana had been around, and how much was label

Go outside, Plato!

"Civil War is a story that was interesting in concept but terrible in execution."

Although, I suppose if you squint just right it might read as the heroic tale of a forgiving Kirk Douglas' valiant attempts to save his relationship and protect his fortune from unfaithful lovers and untrustworthy employees. The Barney Stinson reading, in other words.

To be fair, Douglas is the villain in Out of the Past, so a certain level if assholery is to be expected.

Godard is a filmmaker who seems, on the surface, to be my kind of thing, but whose movies I just don't like. I don't think I've ever made it through an entire film of his without turning it off in annoyance/boredom/disgust.

So, at what point did Dan Ackroyd transition from all-time comedy legend, who, when called upon excelled at portraying greasy, awful corporate scumbags, to actual greasy, awful corporate scumbag, who is also unfunny?
Sadly, I feel like it's probably 30 years or so ago.

It hurts me to criticize national treasure John Goodman (seriously, he's so great) but this was clearly an awful idea.
You know those sketches on rap albums where you're like, "okay, I know this probably seemed hilarious when you were all wasted in the studio at 3 am, but, really, that's where it should have ended"?

I don't believe he and Farrow ever married or even lived together.
Still not cool.

I don't know about a plow, but he's definitely a tool.

I forgot this article was about The Craft, about which I have no strong opinion, other than the amazing hotness of Robin Tunney and replied as if we were talking about another film.

I should really pay attention to which thread I'm replying.

I do.

Because it's Friday and they're off on the weekend and…

Huh, so…. that was it?
Huh?

I haven't seen the animated short or video game, but otherwise, I'm with you.
The books are great. I've watched the movie 50+ times. The soundtrack is great, although I was sort of embarrassed once I realized the song that made me buy it was a T-Rex song I already had.
Still: We are Sex Bob-Omb and we're here to make

Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad.

I don't get the Ramona hate.
Ramona was awesome.
Easily the most sensible, level-headed character in the movie.
The only thing Ramona did that was less than awesome was date Scott.

Except that, however good later Floyd albums are, Syd era Floyd is still the best. They never topped See Emily Play.
