Yes! I was so bummed that it didn't happen. I hope that put the idea in the producers' mind and we get those two cooking head-to-head at some point.

Collaboration on mise-en-place was certainly a good idea. Peeling and cutting veg and other basic prep work would probably be more efficient if each person focused on one task.
I already love cheese, but Frisky Dingo quotes make me love Cheese.
The best detail about A. A. Ron Balakay? Morehouse College. I also loved that they threw Benedict Cumberbatch in there.
As a former fat girl, it MIGHT have less to do with her color and more to do with her size, since plus-size fashion is more niche. But simply calling the fucking wardrobe people at the show would've gotten them the answers they needed.
No, Jon Snow knows nothing.
He's Greg Daniels' son, so he wasn't likely to be recast.
I know this response is several months late, but I only just caught the movie on cable, and I had to come to the AVClub, because the Rotten Tomatoes rating seemed out of keeping with how much I enjoyed the film.

Back in 2006, my BFF and I got to go to a taping of TDS and go backstage to meet Jon and everyone else (she had connections). It happened to be John Oliver's first day as a correspondent. He was a bit nervous and we got to chat with him for a moment and wish him luck. So ever since then, I've always had this soft spot…
@Nuke:disqus , was that directed towards me? Because for the record, my response was about Bowiebot's protestations, as he was clearly distancing of himself from Just Shoot Me.
As for my own feelings about the show, it wasn't reinventing the wheel but it was a reliably pleasant background comedy. I liked everyone on…
The "cunt punt" must've been a deliberate homage - the show was definitely filming right around the same time!
You're two for two in this Savage Dik thread.
Soooooo, basically somebody was sitting at home on the couch, super high and watching a lot of RuPaul's Drag Race, and decided to take the Snatch Game and the Puppet Reading mini-challenge and combine them into a TV show.
I have to admit, it's the best part of the track.
More generic and repetitive and terrible than Scream + Shout? Will.i.am is the ne plus ultra of generic, repetitive terribleness over a beat that's fun when you're drunk.
I think the boys are flashing "C"s, since Cole, Chehon and Cyrus all begin with that letter. If you look at the AVClub's main SYTYCD page, you'll see it in every group picture. Makes me think these three boys must hang out in their off time.
