Go ask any local movie theater if they would even consider showing this movie now that it has an NC-17. Sure, their target audience will still want to see it. It will just be MUCH harder for them to do so.

Arsenio, in a way it makes it far worse. Even the government's most intrusive nanny-state bullshit has a gun behind it to back it up. Defy some nonsensical government regulation and you are deemed a criminal able to be imprisoned at gunpoint. It's hideous and draconian, but at least it makes sense.
My wife is taking me to see these guys in NYC. I fully expect it to be one of the greatest concert going experiences of my life. In the immortal words of Henry David Thoreau: "I am psyched as fuck for this!"
FUCK!
Whoa Whoa Whoa!
"…and I grew up in Maryland!"
This is why I piss in the mouth of HBO's executives! Carnivale - Cancelled on a cliffhanger, rights locked up in HBO's vaults. Deadwood - Cancelled (though David Milch's inner douchebag didn't help much) Rome - Cancelled after 2 seasons.
Joe is fast becoming my favorite non-registered commenter. This, of course, means he should pretty much fuck off since his high-octane absurdist shtick will become more and more forced and irritating as time goes by.
Shit, man, no one even wants to point out that this high quality cinematic endeavor is called Clear Blue Tuesday and not Clear Blue Sky.
The weirdest thing about AMC is the fact that they have genuinely great original programming while filling a channel called American Movie Classics with such dreck as Something to Talk About (approx 89 showings a month), Steel Magnolias, Thunderheart and Pinata: Survival Island.
Vandermonde:
Al, I dare say that nothing that causes you suffering can be all THAT wrong. Especially when Office Drone raises a valid point regarding the difference between a general consensus (the mass population) versus a localized consensus.
While Mike Martz is clearly trolling with his whole "The Wire sucks and Entourage rules" thing, he has a point about Showtime these days.
I'll second that emotion, Doc. This seems like the kind of batshit crazy borderline career suicide project that we WISH our more insufferable celebrities would attempt.
Thanks Fayngo,
JVS for the win.
A few thoughts:
Hey Wolfmanman, what's this about adding freshly slice cheddar to the triscuit equation?
How completely bizarre is it that a song as chock full of expositional material for a musical about chess as "One Night in Bangkok" was a big hit? I mean, sure, the chorus is catchy; but the song itself is about a guy coming to Thailand to try and passive aggressively influence the outcome of an international chess…
