To play devil's advocate for a minute, it's not really Watchmen 2. I hear it's going to be standalone stories from the Watchmen universe.  Which puts this out of the level of sacrilege and more on the level of "Why?" since the Watchmen characters are just archetypes for characters that already exist in the DC Universe.
