Holy fuck, well played.

Yes we can.  Never read Gravity's Rainbow.  I'm intimidated by it's density, and I just mentioned loving Moby Dick.

Which is worse?

@avclub-2300d8171ca46be1ee5a72d2837c1b6d:disqus I went to a Catholic HS and one of the required books by a Brit Lit teacher was A Clockwork Orange.  I did not have that teacher, unfortunately.

The great American novel is Moby Dick.

Wuthering Heights sucked.  Fucking boring, annoying people. Or at least that's how I felt when made to read it at 16.  British Literature was a brutal slog in high school. That class was fun for a bit with Canterburry Tales and Shakespear, but fuck did the wheels fall off in the Victorian era. I DON'T CARE ABOUT BORED

Moulin Rouge is atrocious.  I'm blessed to enjoy most of the movies my wife likes, but Moulin Rouge is a bridge too far.  When they do that fucking mashup and drop Smells Like Teen Spirit in I see red and want to go smash a plate to get some release. Fuck. That. Movie.

How much tentacle rape will it have, though?

Guillermo del Toro did make a nightmarish child fantasy movie that took place during the Spanish Civil War that was incredible bleak and violent, so I wouldn't be surprised if it had a deep political or philosophical streak.  I really hope it does.  Plus rocket mech punches to alien face and swinging an oil tanker

@avclub-472d722b57a4ed37e41e70c9c9d7d0f3:disqus  my favorite is the Axe body spray scene where alley cats are the only thing attracted to the stench.  I got on an elevator yesterday leaving work and it reeked like Axe and I thought of that scene and laughed all 25 floors down.

It's a comic book movie. You can't let the normal nerds nit-pick.  You have to go to the next level.  You must be the least popular Australian at a party.

Then so is all of Japan.

I find it shallow and pedantic - one of the few family guy lines that are funny.

Lex Luthor is on his black crystal continent he built.  The collapse of home values really put a damper on his diabolical plot.

Do it! Do it! Do it!

@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus it depends what me and my wife are getting into, but sometimes.  My field requires me to be especially cognizant of friction forces on liquids in pipes.  You're very perceptive.  Cheers to HDB!

I live in Portland, OR.  Since residents aren't dying constantly at coffee shops, I find this science suspect as well. Also, I'm a scientist.  And I'm drinking my fourth cup of coffee of the day.

Don't you be talking about Caroline in the City like that.  I will smack you in the mouth, I'm Lea Thompson!

* takes bong rip * "whoooooa!"
