Man, that is a top-notch fan-wank. In all sincerity.

Aw, I like Chris Pine. I was ready to hate him and and his Abercrombie-ready looks, but the dude's got charisma to spare. Sure, you can take issue with the hash they made of the character, or the emphasis on empty spectacle, or the totally non-sensical plotting, but none of that was Pine's fault.

I took the rubber band explanation ("Like a balloon, and something bad happens!") to mean that he and his father had to be in close proximity when he died, since those were the times when the rubber band snapped back. But I'm not positive.

And both did it through layers and layers of makeup. Total pros.

Sirtis was far and away my favorite. Not to take anything away from Frakes, of course, who was terrific and who got the ball rolling in the first place, but Sirtis really showed what you can do with a novelty account.

The best part about that fight is Garak obstinately pointing his pistol down the mostly empty corridor while Dukat desperately fights off multiple Klingons hand-to-hand while standing all of three feet away. You'd think one of those Klingons would have thought to pivot slightly to the right and take out the…

That's because it's something that would actually be an effective hand-to-hand weapon: a big knife. Not a goofily-balanced scythe/quarterstaff/windsurfing sail thingy.

I love Tony Todd, but I thought his performance in the Visitor was — get ready for controversy — pretty wooden, especially in the scenes early on with the young girl who visits him. He gets better as the episode goes on, but some of those line readings up front when he's offering her tea or whatever were just… not…
