I disagree. By that rationale, the entirety of Next Generation would be a dull, vamping plod, since it didn't a big, overarching conflict, and consequently no stakes as you're defining them. But that's still a good show.

I was not aware of that — but now I'm aware there's a person named Bumper.

If you didn't cringe at the "These spots go all the way down" line, you may simply be lacking a cringe gland.

When Mardah was first introduced in whichever episode it was, I just assumed it was a dream Jake was having, or a sinister Cardassian plot to brainwash him through wish fulfillment or something. This square-ish, awkward teenager hustling grown adults and dating a super-hot older woman? Not likely, I thought.

We get it, man, you're drowning in pussy because you prefer to use the Windows volume control. Meanwhile, nearly every other video player on the Web has volume control built into the player. There might be a reason for that.

I think season 6 would be regarded a lot more favorably if they had just spaced out the comedic episodes more. You'd think that with the movie (presumably) bringing in a bunch of new viewers, they would have chosen to do more bread-and-butter horror/thriller hours early on, rather than frontloading the season with

I really wanted to like Brisco County when I gave the DVDs a shot a few years back, but the first couple of episodes didn't grab me — the humor was too broad and the dialogue (from the supporting characters, at least) was too schmaltzy. Campbell was as watchable as ever, but it wasn't enough to keep me going. Does it

Problem is, you can say anything is a metaphor if you want.
