Right after 9/11, when Huey and Riley were temporarily replaced by "Flagee" and "Ribbon" really lost the strip a lot of credit. I remember a few newspapers not running those particular strips and some dumping Boondocks entirely. The cartoon has definitely kept the spirit of the strip alive, but I still miss the shit

The whole series is streaming on netflix. Start with the first episode and you'll blow through them in no time flat. I was surprised, watching it for the first time this year, how well the jokes held up.

The Shatner version is actually awesome and goosebump-inducing, thanks to Joe Jackson.
