Let me ask you this:
Are you more likely to rewatch City of Walls and Secrets (Plot Episode) or The Runaway (Filler)?
I admit they do help the pacing while giving us time with the characters, but I'm not inclined to rewatch them the way the plot episodes do.
In Fact, I've seen the first epsiode of Korra 15 times by now,…
@avclub-91546109eaf110327d50b0955865712a:disqus My own ideas for a third series would involve an Avatar who didn't know they were the Avatar and had to learn their native element (Earth) at the beginning.
And a family where every kid bends a different element because their Mother wanted that.
And a non-bender who's a…
Korra Agrees.
"The Morning is Evil…"
What you said about the council is the exact thing I was saying last week. It comes off that the council members only represent the other nations and not the citizens, especially if the city isn't segregated into Earthtown, Little Fire Nation, Water Village, and Air Temple Island.
@avclub-91546109eaf110327d50b0955865712a:disqus My own Epileptic Trees prediction goes "Korra becomes a rogue entity all over the world, leading to people wanting to arrest her."
Specifically because of some horrible thing she'll do at the end of Book 1. Maybe go into the Avatar State and level Republic City?
There was the first time she chi-blocked Katara and she could still move, but not bend.
@avclub-951d3e731b6b2ac1e93cbba6e1b68e80:disqus Same thing came to mind since Airbending is all about evasion and redirection. Although you could make similar barriers out of the other elements. And to use those elements in close quarters would cause serious injury, which is why they show the Chi-Blocking Equalists as…
Since none of the other Saturday shows get any love here, I want to say those were great episodes for Thundercats, GL:TAS, and Young Justice.
I have to say, that would require more screen time than 12 episodes would allow, even if it would play into Bolin's feelings of inadequacy compared to Mako really well.
I picked up on that. When Bloin trying to defend himself at the end he looks like he's still fighting in the Pro-Bending Arena. So naturally, he was about to get beat until Naga picked him up by the scruff of his neck.
Oddly enough, her picking up and throwing a 350 lb. guy didn't even register in my mind as anything other than AWESOME.
From the start of the episode, I was against the couple going into witness protection. I assumed they play Marcus as selfish and Alina as stupid, but by the 2/3's mark it had really won me over with the characters. I haven't seen much in the way of people going into the Witness protection program, and after this…
I only watch this show enough to get the basic ways the characters behave, but this episode convinced me to seriously watch the show.
And really, isn't that a problem with all comedies?
I barely know anything about the West Wing, and I think this is the 2nd best episode of Parks and Recreation. Everything was great, so those WW references are more like the Cherry that's there to be great for those who like it, but non-essential in the end.
@The_Tuna:disqus A Zuko-Related Character in the main plot, important distinction. Also, seeing characters outside of the Gaang's sphere of influence is more of a treat to me because it refelcts how much they've changed the whole world. Their kids are going to be close to them, so their influence is very obvious, so…
Part of me likes the idealistic ending, but the cynical part of me still doesn't accept it. And I could see the Dai Li doing that if they had won the war and Aang didn't know about their ways.
@avclub-7cbaf9384cf3835106bf2f444c0bcf65:disqus It's a good point about their industrial strength, but it wouldn't have come…
I'm not trying to say they're wrong for not punishing the Fire Nation, just that it irks me and seems rather unrealistic. I have read the Promise pt.1 and have to say it's sort of answering my issues. At least, it would if it didn't focus on showing us what EVERY character's been up to.
It doesn't come off as…
@The_Tuna:disqus I put my money on not even seeing his kids. And if we do, it will have to be very important to the plot for them to show up considering how tightly written it sounds like they've made the show.
All points valid and I agree with you. In fact, was that you who made a big discertation on Iroh's character Arc last week (or the week before)?
