I was actually okay with the quirky first-person narration for the most part. I can understand why it would seem cloying, but it was just rounded out enough for me to stay invested. The parts that bothered me were the digressions with the grandfather; that whole section felt like a bit of a slog by comparison.

"Man what I'm I gonna do with all these Benjamins?"
"Save it for the club. Make it rain on some bitches."
"Yeah, I could do that. Or…"

Judd Apatow got into quite the venomous kerfuffle with That 70s Show creator Mark Brazil over that very concept.

And I generally prefer covers (regardless of genre) to have a couple significant deviations from the original, either in style or in arrangement. So different strokes for different Dick Clarks, I guess.

I can understand why that plot line's infuriating. But…

"things in baseball happen quickly."

In fairness, Maier had as big a hand in helping his team win as any fan in the history of sports. So he's not exactly going to be on the hook.

Yeah, I see it pretty much the same way. I only gave it to Parks and Rec because it just plain made me laugh more. But then, I expect Community to outstrip in the long run. I really am psyched for all the arcs they threw in the air last night

Who wants a collection of thoughts in numerical order? Well, it's a lucky day for the two of you!

First, you haven't seen The Book of Mormon. This much is painfully obvious. If you had, you'd realize that it was incredibly generous toward your religion, genuinely affectionate.

"Looks like your nose needs some CORRECTIONS!"

Still yet to read The Corrections, but I just figured I'd throw my significant weight onto the "Freedom is a pretty kick-ass book" train.

@avclub-83dd0532c63f346e9c7cab0136732874:disqus , your sensitivity is wonderfully incongruous

I was actually okay with the first using Jonathan as Andrew-bait; I feel like they share a special murder/murderee connection. But I want to just jump in with my dislike of the Xander subplot.

PSEUDO-SPOILERS

Or bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with string; hell just pick a few

People dislike Paul Rudd? That's like hating strawberry jam or drinking that last bit of melted ice cream from the bowl. He is one pleasant motherfucker.

I think the real issue is that it wouldn't really be Freaks and Geeks anymore. So much of that show was rooted in the time and the age of the characters, that adding a ten years later post script would just be something else entirely. Granted, something else that I'd by tickets to see opening night, but still very

I think he's going for the "Guy on the cover of every romance novel" look, but, because he's schlubby old David Brent, he ends up looking more like a pirate.

SHAZAAM you just triggered my itchy like finger.
