In the U.K. there's a fluffy murder mystery show called "Midsomer Murders", all the mayhem over 18 seasons taking place in quaint little English villages in a single county. From Wiki: "The fictional county of Midsomer is notable for its particularly high crime rate, causing the Midsomer Constabulary to be

Smuggling being the chosen profession of the great American Founding Father, John Hancock.

Me, neither, but my girlfriend says I smell like one.

And I thought to myself, "what will GoT be without wine? Are we heading back to Prohibition?"

Lots of good comments and lots of good jokes, but what I REALLY want to see are transcripts of the GoT meetings where this was discussed, decisions were made, and PR was conceived (NPI).

While the jacket flipping by Sheen is known to be due to the fact that he had to learn to do it as a youth because of his birth malady of a bum shoulder, it doesn't of course change that the directors and editors saw fit to put it on the camera so often. It could have been written and edited out of the show.

I read about a half-dozen of the nearly thirty books on Shannara that Brooks wrote (with two more coming), probably about ten years ago. Got turned off eventually by the narrative style. The man is prolific and creative, but needs a heavy-handed editor.

"One More Time to Live" by the Moody Blues. Saw it performed live in 1972 and it was great. All versions on youtube are crap. Also, "Procession" from the same album, but that was just an offbeat intro to the collection, and only has 3 "-ations".

Yes, all those things are turning in my mind with every episode, and undoubtedly they will continue to. One might consider that the first season of Better Call Saul (plus whatever time VG has built into Jimmy's character arc) is a comprehensive review of the "inciting incident", that turns Jimmy into Saul. But, in

Truly. Apparently, Tyrion does not know how to walk, stride, stroll. He can only "waddle". One reader counted between 10-12 instances of the word in Dance.

Loved Davina's "We don't get paid good money for the days we sit on the carrier. THIS is the day we get paid for."

I can't decide whether I'm happier about this show finally getting off, or that Donna Bowman is reviewing it. I just may start paying more attention to the Club.

Just a beautiful episode of a top flight show. Sufficient drama to be a self-contained joy, but also, you can clearly feel the volcano about to erupt in every thread. The riot squad, the armed response unit, and the front office are all about to boil over (npi).
Danny Boyle is terrific. From Trainspotting to

Television at its best. It's one of those shows that I'm truly disappointed that an episode ends, and that there's only seven of them (with the pilot).

To me, this works only if they abandon the done-to-too-many-deaths mythology. Do a big-ass MOTW miniseries, written by Gilligan and Spotnitz, dedicated to Kim Manners. That would get me interested.

Lisa stands before Homer who wears royal robes while sitting on a throne in the living room.
Lisa: Dad, I know you think you’re happy now, but it’s not going to last forever.
King Homer: Everything lasts forever.

Homer buys a handgun from a chain store called "Bloodbath and Beyond."
(I know, it's not a quote per se, but one of those sight gags that just go by too fast when the show caught lightning in the early years)
